Amongst the whirlwind of activity following our recent success at HFMA ANI in Orlando, Florida, we want to take a step back and recap some of the big issues highlighted at the conference.
ANI is the premier annual educational event for healthcare financial management executives, with a typical attendance of close to 5,000. While presentations focused around many relevant topics, one thing was clear: hospitals are talking about the growing challenge of increased self-pay dollars affecting their bottom line and the burden associated with collecting those balances from patients. With the one-two punch brought on by the proliferation of employer-based high-deductible health plans, and the growing popularity of silver and bronze plans that increase patient out-of-pocket responsibility, providers are left with unpaid self-pay balances. As hospitals compete for business in our consumer-driven economy, they need a solution that promotes patient satisfaction and loyalty while accelerating their cashflow.
Finance leaders may have been drawn to our booth by the chance to win an Apple Watch or Amazon gift card, but they stayed to hear about how OnPlan’s advanced actionable payment plan technology addresses the out-of-pocket burden by focusing on a major gap at the front end of the revenue cycle. OnPlan’s executive staff demonstrated how health systems can leverage OnPlan’s innovative technology to improve patient relationships, increase operational efficiency, and reduce costs. From the volume of post-conference interest OnPlan Health is receiving, it is clear that industry leaders are also realizing the value of automating payment plans and setup on day one to improve their business operations and patient engagement.
We’re already looking forward to ANI 2016, June 26-29, in Las Vegas, Nevada, where we’ll continue to challenge the status quo by bringing the future of payment plans into the present. If you did not have a chance to stop by our booth and would like a personal demo, please complete our Contact Page or call us at 847-813-6039. We’d love to show you how OnPlan can help you and your patients.
